Family Fireworks & Geocaching
Let us start with the well known fact that I enjoy geocaching a lot more than my husband(and now you know as well). So as July 4th 2017 approached, my husband wanted to go shopping with the kids for a couple of fireworks at one of our local retailers. He came home in disbelief, the few he purchased were a lot more than what either of us expected. He hadn’t purchased fireworks in a couple of years and oh my had the prices gone up! So this is the story of family fireworks & geocaching.
Guiltily he asked “what I would like to do since he new I was not happy over his expenditure?” My answer, I am only working part of the day on July 4th and would love to go geocaching. “Well, ok?”, he said. So we loaded up (it is always a bunch of stuff when I go) swag, bug spray, cooler, repair kits, tott etc.
4th of July Geocaching Adventure
We spent a wonderful 4th of July afternoon finding caches. He drove while I navigated and found the hides. We covered several miles in the 5 hours and I was thrilled to discover my 200th find. Overall I found 25 caches that day that included 2 earth caches and several traditionals. We even found a really cool hide at an old river lock.
Now these type of hides my husband does enjoy, places he has never seen that are really interesting even though he grew up in this area. We also were probably a minute away from being included in a small town 4th of July parade as we drove thru a backwoods town.
All in all it was a great day, the weather was in 80’s with a nice breeze, and my husband was overly sweet knowing that the kids and him could enjoy his fireworks guilt free!
