Going forward, I intend to break out my camera and post photos of where all my armies stand to date. Then we can begin the journey of how I might finish all my armies before I die.

Look for content to fill in the Categories listed in the right-hand column:

Dark Heresy - my playgroup will be playing it when I get around to preparing to run in it

Deathwing - just have to decide how to paint them; dreadnoughts, land raiders and a vindicator to follow.

Imperial Guard - probably on hold until the new Codex comes out after the main rulebook 5th Edition. Two maximum sized platoons built at this point.

Khorne Renegades - got the super army box with the new Codex when it came out. Have built the Defiler with a swiveling removable "torso" with extra CCW; so with extra bitz I can build another "torso" with the gun options. I've also built 5 bikes and a Khorne Lord on Bike. Finally, I've bought too many extra Possessed boxes in order to strip the Winged Backpacks out for my Raptor squad. If I ever build them I'll have a ridiculous amount of Possessed models.

Lost and the Damned - will continue progress with Traitor Guard, photos to follow of existing mutant squads.

Ultramarines - pretty much all of the 4th company. 6 full tactical squads, 1 full assault squad (another to follow), 2 full devastator squads, too many scouts, 10 terminators, Mk1 Veterans... Many vehicles to build.

Ravenwing - bikes, attack bikes and land speeders oh my! I've lost count.

Space Wolves 13th Company - 50 or 60 models built, based, basecoated in gray, and waiting for paint.

Enjoy,

Jon

In addition to my Deathwing, I've been collecting a Lost and the Damned army as well. It seems I'm always behind the curve on these things.

When the Eye of Terror supplement came out I jumped on the Space Wolf 13th Company; and finally started them a year or so later... oops. Only a year after that did I realize how cool the Lost and the Damned could be. While my friend Joel pursued the Traitor Guard focus, I instead focused on the Mutants. 3x30 Mutant squads later... perhaps I'll post photos some day.

So here we are again, years after everyone else was doing it I've picked up some Brettonian bitz on eBay and the Warstore and combined them with Imperial Guard lasgun arms. A la Dave Taylor of GW?

Anyway, a work-in-progress from last week and from Sunday.

Next up, the command squad. Note the Flamer dude will have the crazy "clown" head. I figure you have to be the crazy guy to be carrying a flamer.

With the coming of the Apocalypse book and the loss of Lost and the Damned with its reliance on the Chaos SM codex, I began putting together both my own LatD "codex" and including the required CSM items as well as creating some APOC Datasheets for my take on Traitor Guard.

In short, on my Datasheet, a Traitor Platoon consists of 1 Traitor Command squad (character + 4 guardsmen) and 3+ Traitor squads. In keeping with similar Chaos units, I increased the squad size to 15 models.

Hence, my unit above is a Traitor Command squad and 3x15 Traitors. I've done similar APOC Datasheets for including Traitor Sentinels and Traitor Leman Russ tanks as well. Perhaps some day I will make them public.

Enjoy,

Jon

So I got set up this blog ages ago and just got around to doing something about it.

I'm new to blogging and assume I have an audience of zero.

I had a good and successful weekend of hobby related things and need to tell someone.

First up, I've been collecting pewter Deathwing models for several years, starting when plastic Terminators were just a rumor. Through time I've been roughing out army lists and building what I could with the pieces I had. Then things had to be rethought once the new Dark Angel's book dropped and we lost double Assault Cannons. What was I going to do with all the models I'd collected?

Well, it all worked out. As of last night I have 7 squads of Deathwing with an Assault Cannon, 1 Assault squad with Lightning Claws, 4 Cyclone models and 4 Heavy Flamer models in case I want to trade out some Assault Cannons. Leading them I have a Lysander model with magetized lightning claws and a pewter Chaplain. I've got 3 of 5 Thunder hammer models built, just waiting for Storm Shield bitz.

With the exception of the Thunder hammer squad, eveything is based, primed and basecoated in Bleached Bone. Hopefully I have enough in the can to finish basecoating the Thunder hammer squad.

Let me see if I can post a photo and publish this. Hopefully more to follow.

Jon
